Toad Lily | Autumn’s Last Flower

Like its namesake, toad lilies (Tricyrtis) favor damp, shady environs, but unlike the often unsightly amphibians, the plant—with its mottled, star-shaped flowers—is considered by many to be among the most beautiful in the world.
