Seattle Seahawks Superbowl victory celebrations aren’t the only thing happening in the Emerald City. The country’s second-largest flower and garden show is back.

This week, in the middle of the drizzly, frigid Pacific Northwest winter, tens of thousands of undeterred plant lovers from throughout the region and across the country are converging on Seattle for the 2014 Northwest Flower & Garden Show. The prestigious annual event, which kicks off its five-day run tomorrow, will have an “Art in Bloom” theme this time. The show, now in its 26th year, features landscaped garden displays, expert-led seminars, garden author book signings and dozens of exhibitors showing their latest contributions to the world of horticulture, many with creative flair. It’s well worth a visit. gardenshow.com.
